Venom DH-112 Flight Manual (MSFS)
Checklist Venom DH-112 (MSFS) EN
Project Description
The improvement of the DH-100 gave birth to the DH-112 Mk. 1 Venom, first flight on September 2nd 1948. The Swiss Air Force was interested in this aircraft and tests took place in England and Switzerland in 1949 and 1950. In April 1951, the Federal Council’s message concerning the authorized construction of 150 DH-112 Mk. 1 Venom aircraft was approved by the Federal Parliament with a commitment credit of 175 million francs. The license agreement included the Ghost-48 radial engine. It was produced by Gebrüder Sulzer AG and was installed in the aircraft from the 30th production aircraft. The Venom was the first Swiss Air Force fighter to be equipped with an ejection seat from the start.
In February 1954, Parliament approved the construction of another 100 DH-112 Mk. 4 Venom aircraft under license. 226 DH-112 Mk. 1 and Mk. 4 aircraft were used by troops as ground combat aircraft from 1954 to 1983. 24 DH-112 Mk. 1R were used as reconnaissance aircraft by the 10th Squadron from 1954 to 1968. This is the largest fleet that served Switzerland. The new nose cone, introduced in the 1970s, houses a new UHF radio, a bomb pointing computer, and an Identification Friend or Foe device (IFF). The Venom was retired from service in 1983.
Our modeling is based on the latest Swiss version MK4 with instruments in metric values and texts in French.
It was recognized as demanding in terms of piloting. By reproducing its flight characteristics and systems very precisely, we will allow you to become familiar with its qualities and problems! A good study of the flight manual is essential to fully enjoy it (integrated in the addon and available for download in French, German and English).
